For an ensemble of this size, it’s nice to purchase both the tank and the stand at the same time to eliminate any potential problems when it comes to finding a suitable stand to support your tank (or vice versa).
This isn’t a full kit, but it includes all of the basics needed to start your build, allowing you to customize the individual components (like filter and heater) to match your unique goals. It does come with a matching glass canopy with integrated LED lighting to ensure a proper fit and adequate lighting across the interior of the tank.
These LED lights provide extremely improved lifespan beyond traditional lights, all while drawing much less electricity than other types of lighting options. The glass canopy allows natural ambient light to further penetrate the top of the tank, reducing the workload demanded from the LEDs.
With a limited lifetime warranty, you won’t have to worry about defects that take a while to make themselves apparent. At 48 inches wide, 21 inches high, and 18 inches deep, the tank balances capacity and frontal viewing area to produce an impressive profile. The stand further elevates the tank to a total of 50 inches tall, while only adding 2 inches to the width.
I just purchased this tank and stand setup at Pet Smart during their Christmas Sale. Just couldn’t pass up this deal. listed at the store for $249.99, and I ordered it online to pickup at the store. Total at checkout was $189.00 or there about. I also purchased 2 Emperor 400 filter systems to keep is crystal clear. Currently have an assortment of Lake Malawi African Cichlids. Love the tank and the stand. It came with a glass canopy, and a really nice Led lighting system. I’ll give it 5 stars in my rating. very happy with it.
STAY AWAY from Marineland! They will not honor their warranty. Just bought a 65g with overflow. Had what the retailer said was a “cosmetic defect” on the edge. After filling, the defect enlarged into a crack, and the glass flaked off on the edge (literally came off in my fingers, about a 1″ shard- never saw anything like this before). Marineland said it was my fault and would not honor their warranty. Tried to speak to someone else, they will not even return my emails (the customer service rep was somewhat rude and didn’t care that I could lose 2k plus worth of livestock-I was transferring my critters to the new tank, and didn’t have the old one anymore-, let alone all the aggravation). Since the tank could leak at any time, I was forced to buy I new tank (again) for $320. Absolutely horrible customer service. Seriously- stay away from them, try a different brand.
